Los Angeles - British singer James Blunt would not be charged over a claim that he drove over someone's foot while leaving a party in February, the Los Angeles city attorney's office said.
"After review of the information provided, we've decided not to file charges at this time," city attorney's spokesperson Frank Mateljan said on Friday.
American police investigated a man's claim that he was injured at a Bel-Air Estates party on February 24.
Some witnesses reported that the singer was driving the car, police said.
"James was never charged with anything. He's very happy about that. He's now hard at work in Los Angeles on his new album," Blunt's publicist Sheila Richman said on Friday.
Richman released a statement in February saying that Blunt and his car were "swarmed by paparazzi" and that he was "trying to navigate his car through all of the people" at 3km/h.
Blunt received Grammy nominations this year for song and record of the year. His double-platinum debut album, Back to Bedlam, included the smash hit You're Beautiful.
