London - Heather Mills McCartney, the anti-fur campaigner and wife of Beatles legend Paul McCartney has slammed supermodel Naomi Campbell for wearing fur.
In an interview with Britain's ITV television to be broadcast Sunday, Mills McCartney, 37, blasted Campbell, 35, a former anti-fur campaigner.
Mills McCartney said: "It would be a bit like me saying no more landmines, no more landmines, and then going doing a contract with a landmine company to promote a new landmine -- that's how superficial, shallow and hypocritical it is, as well as harming millions of animals."
She added on Campbell: "I haven't met her. She won't meet up with me."
However, a spokesperson for Campbell hit back in a written statement to the Jonathan Dimbleby interview programme.
"Ms Campbell has not been contacted by Heather Mills McCartney, is surprised by her remarks and declines to comment further," the statement said.
Mills McCartney also revealed that animal rights activists had wanted her to storm the catwalk during New York Fashion Week.
"I was asked, would I go on the catwalk? No, I wouldn't run on a catwalk and disrupt somebody's fashion show, because I don't believe that you get things done that way," she said.
"The reason I managed to get a lot of things done, many things that people don't know about over the years, is because I do it diplomatically."
Former model Mills McCartney became an anti-landmine campaigner after losing part of a leg in an accident in 1993. She married Beatles legend McCartney, 63, in 2002, after the death of his first wife Linda.
