Cape Town - Australian pop star Kylie Minogue has denied reports that she has cancelled a forthcoming tour.
According to a statement published on her official website www.kylie.com the singer never gave the quotes reported in Britain's Daily Mail.
"We would like to make it clear that the report in Monday's Daily Mail that Kylie has cancelled a forthcoming tour on doctor's orders is completely false.
"When asked, Kylie has said on numerous occasions that she loves touring and that she might tour again in the near future. There were and are no dates currently confirmed. If and when dates are confirmed they will be announced in the normal manner."
"Thus, reports in the Daily Mail that Kylie has cancelled a tour are not true for the simple reason that no tour had been booked."
"Kylie has not been told by her doctors that touring 'could seriously harm her health'."
Minogue's representatives demanded the Daily Mail to print a prominent apology for the "highly damaging story".
The Daily Mail issued the apology early on Tuesday morning:
"We reported yesterday that Kylie Minogue had cancelled a world tour on the orders of her doctor. In fact, Ms Minogue had not announced any tour dates, nor had she been advised that a tour would be detrimental to her health. We now accept that Ms Minogue was wrongly quoted. We are happy to set the record straight."
