Shanghai - Former presidential paramour Monica Lewinsky is planning a promotional tour in China for her 1999 book, Monica's Story, and is demanding one million dollars per media interview, state press reported on Wednesday.
Lewinsky, 30, is expected to travel to China in mid-October for a tour that will also include Hong Kong and possibly Taipei in Taiwan, the Shanghai Morning Post reported.
Her visit to Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, and Guangzhou in mainland China to promote the Chinese version of Monica's Story is set to coincide with the Chinese release of former US president Bill Clinton's autobiography My Life.
In his memoir Clinton called his sexual liaison with the former White House intern "immoral and foolish" and said he suffered a "living nightmare" over the affair that almost got him expelled from office.
The public exposure of their affair in 1998 resulted in impeachment hearings, but he was eventually acquitted of charges.
Some 20 Chinese television stations have reportedly expressed interest in interviewing Lewinsky, at a cost of one million dollars each, the newspaper said.
In 1999, Britain's Channel 4 television paid her £400 000 for an exclusive interview.
