Cape Town - Marcelle Adams's German lover expressed the hope on Thursday that they would get married one day.
Fritz Cherdron, the 55-year-old businessman and well-known acrobatic pilot, said from Bad Endorf in Bavaria he also hoped to be in South Africa in September, when their second child was expected to be born.
Marcelle, 34, who has been living with 78-year-old Dr Piet Koornhof for more than a decade, revealed last month that Cherdron was the father of her youngest child, Anna, aged two.
She has three other children and maintains Koornhof, former minister in the National Party government and former ambassador to Washington, is the father of her twin boys, Daniel and Samuel, aged six.
Maria, 11, is from a previous relationship.
Adams has indicated her intention to join Cherdron in Germany with the children, but Koornhof has refused permission for the children to leave the country.
Sold her story to a magazine
Asked by Die Burger if his relationship with Marcelle was bound to end in marriage, Cherdron said: "I hope so. We'll see what happens."
He then referred all questions to Marcelle. When told she could not speak as she had promised her story to a magazine, Cherdron said she had done the right thing to tell her story for money.
"It would have come out anyway," he said. "She may as well get paid for it."
