Marcelle's two men 'gagged'

2003-02-07 07:57
line

Cape Town - Both the men in Marcelle Adams's life are still married.

Dr Piet Koornhof, 77, a former cabinet minister in the National Party government and former ambassador to Washington has never divorced his wife, Lulu. He has been living with Marcelle, 33, for the past 10 years, while his wife lives in Stellenbosch.

German Fritz Cherdron, 53, - the other man, understood to have been in Marcelle's life for the past two years - is also married. The couple have a daughter who is studying to become an engineer.

Cherdron has confirmed from Bad Endorf in Bavaria that his wife had serious brain damage four years ago. He said the cause for his wife's condition was unknown, although he suspected doctors had administered the wrong medicine to his wife.

A South African acquaintance of Cherdron, an aerobatic world champion, said the pilot had brought his wife to South Africa two years ago.

"She is in a wheelchair and he has to attend to all her needs. He takes good care of her," he said.

"But, he also likes other women," the man said.

"Before he met Marcelle, he brought one blonde after the other to his hangar (where he lives when he is in South Africa)."

Koornhof has 'never been so happy'

The acquaintance said that since last year Marcell had regularly visited Cherdron regularly at the Koeberg aerodrome off the N7 route. When her four children accompanied her, they called Cherdron "Daddy", he said.

Koornhof denied emphatically on Thursday that Adams was having an affair with another man, despite her admission to Die Burger earlier this week that it was true.

He also warned earlier that "me and four beautiful children will go down the drain" if reports were published about an affair between Adams and Cherdron.

"I have never been so happy in my entire life. I believe in the power of positive thinking. I switch off in the presence of negative people," he said at his Table View townhouse on Thursday.

"You know you are not allowed to talk to the media," Marcell scolded Koornhof when she came home with twins Daniel and Samuel, 5, and Anna, 1.

She explained they had signed a contract with You magazine and had been told not to talk to the media for a certain period.

She also refused to let Cherdron talk about their relationship - he had said as much when contacted in Bavaria.
