Cape Town - Minki van der Westhuizen, one of the best-known models in South Africa, will live in London for at least four months a year in future.
Her agent, Andrew Farr, confirmed on Sunday that the lovely Capetonian would soon have to pack her bags after closing a huge deal with world-renowned agency IMG.
Kirsty Reilly of IMG reported from London that at least three international swimwear and underwear manufacturers as well as a chain-store group had their sights on Minki.
"She reminds a lot of (supermodel) Heidi Klum (also represented by IMG). They have the same type of beauty which makes one want to stare at them for hours."
Farr said Minki, who worked for Max Models in South Africa, visited London last week.
She signed a contract to do modelling in various European cities.
"The move won't be so hard on her. She already visits London about once a month to do modelling, and often during the South African winter as well," he said.
Farr said Minki would remain involved with Max Models.
Through IMG, she would meet big names in the industry, among them Gisele Bunchen, Milla Jovavich and Drew Barrymore.
Reilly said Minki had the potential and beauty to reach great heights.
"Minkie is fresh. She's at the beginning of her career at IMG and already there are clients who are interested in her."
