London - British supermodel Naomi Campbell was released on bail on Friday after having been removed from a British Airways flight at London Heathrow.
"We can confirm that a passenger was removed by police from a BA flight this afternoon," an airport spokesperson said on Thursday, while a police spokesperson told AFP on Friday that "a 37-year-old woman has been released on bail to return on a date in late May pending further inquiries".
Campbell left Heathrow Airport shortly after midnight.
The 37-year-old Londoner, who is known for her quick temper, was aggressive and abusive to staff, passengers alleged.
Witnesses said she was handcuffed on board the aircraft, which had not taken off.
Last year Campbell was ordered to spend a week mopping floors at a New York City warehouse for hitting her maid with a mobile phone.
She was sentenced in January 2007 after pleading guilty to reckless assault, and also ordered to attend a two-day anger management course and pay more than $350 to cover her victim's medical expenses.
