Berlin - Michael Jackson will not be able to attend his father's birthday party in Berlin, but wished his father "Happy Birthday", according to a statement posted on his official website on Thursday.

Speculation has been swirling regarding whether Jackson would attend his father's 76th birthday bash, to be held at Berlin's Estre Hotel on Friday.

The statement said Jackson extended his "sincere regrets that he will be unable to attend the Victory/Birthday Party, hosted by his father, Joseph Jackson."

"However, Michael would like to wish his father a very heartfelt 'Happy Birthday', and he hopes that everyone attending the event has a truly wonderful time," it said.
