No pre-nup for Elton

London - Newlywed Sir Elton John refused to sign a pre-nuptial agreement with David Furnish before their marriage on Wednesday.
The pop megastar - worth an estimated £185m - was urged by friends and professional advisers to get a contract drawn up, The Sun reports.
But he told his inner circle he was against any document safeguarding his wealth in the event of a split.
Sir Elton said: "The whole idea of this ceremony is to show our total commitment and trust for one another.
"If I had asked David to sign a pre-nup I would have destroyed part of that faith we have in one another. I just feel that a little something between us would have been lost."
The couple were among hundreds of same-sex couples to wed in civil partnerships in England and Wales on Wednesday, the first day that such ceremonies become possible.
After the ceremony the pair left for a private lunch followed by an evening reception for 700 at Sir Elton's mansion.
Stars from the world of pop, fashion and sport danced into the wee hours on Thursday at a lavish party to celebrate the "civil partnership".
Ex-Beatle Ringo Starr, Victoria Beckham, Joan Collins, German model Claudia Schiffer and former German tennis champion Boris Becker were among the 700 guests at Sir Elton's mansion near Windsor, southwest of London.
English cricket captain Michael Vaughn and singer James Blunt were also there.
