Pete risks jail over drugs

London - A judge warned troubled British rocker Pete Doherty on Tuesday he faces jail unless he cleans up his act, after he admitted his latest drugs offence.
The dishevelled Babyshambles front-man caused the usual chaotic scenes as he turned up at West London magistrates' court, where he admitted to driving illegally while in possession of crack, heroin, ketamine and cannabis.
Judge Davinder Lachlar said she would decide next month what sentence to give Doherty, whose on-off relationship with supermodel Kate Moss has kept him regularly in the headlines in recent years.
But she said: "As far as I am concerned, I have either a custodial sentence or a community order in mind. Depending on what information I have when you next come to court, the decision will be made."
The 28-year-old noted that he has had a device implanted in his stomach to help him kick his drugs habit, and offered to show the judge exactly where it was.
'Looking a lot better'
In July, the court also told Doherty to undergo detox, and on Tuesday his lawyer Sean Curran said the bad boy star "presents himself certainly looking a lot better today" than his last appearance.
Doherty's next scheduled court appearance is on September 4.
The troubled star has repeatedly sought treatment for drug addiction in countries including Britain, France and Thailand.
Last year, he was fined £770 and banned from driving for four months for possessing illegal drugs, including crack cocaine and heroin.
In 2006, he was also photographed apparently injecting a drug into a female fan's arm as she lay unconscious.
