Los Angeles - Several Broadway veterans gathered to dedicate a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame to Cole Porter.
Cabaret singer Mark Nadler played some of the late composer's songs on a baby grand piano on Hollywood Boulevard.
Porter wrote more than 1 500 songs for stage, movies and television, including such standards as Night and Day, Anything Goes, and I've Got You Under My Skin.
He died in 1964.
"Cole wrote endless, wonderful songs," said actress Anne Jeffreys, who starred in Kiss Me Kate, the Broadway musical for which Porter wrote the music and lyrics.
"He had such a talent that I don't think that it can ever be duplicated," said Jeffreys, who was joined by Neile Adams, Betty Garrett and Rex Smith.
