London - The divorce battle between Sir Paul McCartney and his estranged wife Heather Mills is heating up, reports Ananova.com.
The star has reportedly frozen their joint bank account after Heather allegedly withdrew £1m in a month.
He also reportedly changed the locks on their north London home when Heather was out with their daughter.
McCartney, 64, begun formal divorce proceedings two weeks ago, citing his wife's "unreasonable behaviour" for the break-up.
A spokesperson for Mills, 38, said at the time that the former Beatle's second wife planned to file counter claims in Britain and the United States.
The couple were married in 2002. They have a two-year-old daughter, Beatrice.
They met in 1999 at a charity event. McCartney's first wife Linda Eastman, had died of breast cancer the year before.
The divorce could prove costly for the singer, whose personal fortune is estimated at £825m.
Lawyers believe McCartney could lose a quarter of his wealth in a private settlement.
The couple did not sign a pre-nuptial agreement.
