Spice Girl marries in secret

London - Mel B, the former Spice Girl and ex-girlfriend of US comedian Eddie Murphy, has married in secret, it was revealed on Thursday.

The 32-year old who was known as Scary Spice during her spell with the British all-girl Spice Girls pop group, gave the yes word to film producer Stephen Belafonte, 32, two months ago in Las Vegas, Spice Girls management confirmed on Thursday.

The two had been friends for a "long time" and wanted to pledge their loyalty. A more lavish wedding is to follow.

Melanie Brown made headlines recently when a paternity test showed that her four-month-old daughter was fathered by Murphy, who had denied the child was his.

The singer was married once previously. She and her former fellow Spice Girls band members, announced a comeback recently. - Sapa-dpa
