Cape Town - "Yes, I will have sex again before 2020. If it so pleases the public."
This is what singer Steve Hofmeyr has written in his latest entry on his website, regarding the brouhaha over him and the so-called new woman in his life, Sune Meyer, who is a lawyer from Pretoria.
They were spotted together at the KKNK.
"The reaction was shocking, but somewhat exaggerated. No, I didn't see anyone else. And no, we did not kiss in public.
"Yes, my (estranged) wife (Natasha Sutherland) and I have both been dating for several months, and yes, it has fôkôl to do with you.
"No, Sune did not cancel her wedding for me (haha) and no, she is not a divorce lawyer. No I don't have any wedding plans, and yes, I will have sex again before 2020. If it so pleases the public."
Hofmeyr says he is "happy and calm".
"I'm reading RW Johnson, I jog a bit, I'm learning Cante Libre, I hope to see Sune again, I'm praying for Mathys (Roets) and this week I'll be spending time with my two boys in Jacobsbaai."
Regarding the KKNK, he says: "Good festival. A really good festival. Smaller, perhaps, but I'm pretty sure each drama I attended was completely full."
His own Waarmaker performances "filled the civic centre three times". "However, the best reaction was when Arno (Jordaan) invited me onto the stage to do Sjoe and Pampoen with him."
