Los Angeles - Hollywood personality Zsa Zsa Gabor, who suffered serious injuries in a car accident last year, has been quietly moved from a hospital to a celebrity convalescence home, officials said on Friday.
The 85-year-old much-married former Miss Hungary has been shifted to the luxurious Motion Picture and Television Hospital in Los Angeles from the clinic where was treated following the November 28 crash.
Hospital spokeswoman Carla White said the actress arrived in her new digs "a few days ago," but declined to elaborate on the reasons for the move.
The spokeswoman would not comment on Gabor's condition, other than to say that "she's doing physical therapy, which is obviously a good thing."
The driver of the car Gabor was travelling in jumped a curb and hit a telegraph, causing Gabor multiple injuries including broken bones, a head injury and cuts and bruises.
Gabor was chosen Miss Hungary in 1936 before coming to seek fame in Hollywood accompanied by her actress sisters, Eva and Magda, who have both since died.
She had roles in scores of films and television series dating back to the original 1951 John Huston version of "Moulin Rouge" and a small part in Orson Welles' classic "Touch of Evil" in 1958.
But over the years she has become better known for her record nine marriages to rich men - including hotel baron Conrad Hilton and the late actor George Sanders - and her love of fur coats and jewels.
One of those marriages was voided after just a day after it emerged that her divorce from her seventh husband was not yet final.
She has also shown a sharp temper on occasion. In 1989, she slapped a Beverly Hills policeman who pulled her over for a traffic violation.
She served one night in jail for the offence and was also sentenced to 120 hours of community service. - Sapa-AFP
