London - The Spice Girls are to make an
announcement about their future plans next week, sparking
speculation that one of the world's most successful girl bands
is set to reunite for a new album and concert tour.
The Spice Girls sold more than 30 million albums and topped
charts around the world before Posh, Scary, Sporty, Baby and
Ginger decided to pursue solo careers with differing levels of
success.
Geri "Ginger Spice" Halliwell left the group in 1998 and the
other four quit in 2001.
'Expect the unexpected'
"The Spice Girls are set to make an official announcement to
the world regarding future plans on Thursday 28th June," their
management said in a statement on Friday.
"No further information can be given at this time but given
the band's unique history you can be sure to expect the
unexpected," Simon Fuller's 19 Entertainment said.
