New York - Julia Roberts has celebrated the arrival of her two twins by buying 32 acres (13 hectares) of prime New Mexico property from US Defence Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, People magazine said.
Roberts has been buying land from neighbours since first becoming a part-time resident of Taos, New Mexico in 1995. The new land joins 32ha she already owns, the magazine said on its website.
Roberts and husband Danny Moder, spent Christmas and the New Year in Taos with their new twins, Hazel Patricia and Phinnaeus Walter.
People reported that land in the area sells for between $110 000 and $125 000 an acre, according to a Taos real estate agent, Peter Lora, quoted by People.
When Roberts and Moder married in July 2002, Rumsfeld, a hardline Republican, told People he had visited the movie star. According to the county clerk's office, Roberts and Moder are both registered to vote as Democrats, according to the magazine.
