Bangkok - Oscar-winning actors Michael Douglas and Jeremy Irons on Friday personally delivered a donation from Hollywood for Thailand's tsunami victims to Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra.
Irons and Douglas, whom the United Nations has named messengers of peace, handed Thaksin the check for about one million baht (about $26 000), collected from a Hollywood fundraiser.
Both men are visiting Thailand for the Bangkok International Film Festival, where British star Irons's film Being Julia is screening.
Douglas, who starred in movies such as Basic Instinct and Traffic, expressed sympathy for the Thai victims and said he would return to Thailand with his wife, Oscar-winning Welsh beauty Catherine Zeta-Jones.
"I want to express my gratitude to Hollywood's stars for their contribution and for their support of the Bangkok International Film Festival. I hope that they will come to use Thailand as location" in their films, Thaksin told reporters.
