US 'used Janet's nipple'

Los Angeles - Janet Jackson has accused the US government of using the 'Nipplegate' affair to deflect the public's attention from criticism over its foreign policy.
Speaking to the Financial Times Germany, Jackson said: "The government needed something to divert attention away from important problems regarding foreign affairs."
The 37-year-old star caused waves of protest in the US when her right breast became exposed during a half-time performance with Justin Timberlake at the Superbowl.
She claims that Congress magnified the incident by responding to complaints by issuing a number of new regulations instead of just ignoring them.
"They simply needed a distraction - and they found that in me. It could have been anyone, but they picked me. That is really alarming," said Jackson.
"It shows you that we desperately need a democrat as president," she said. - Ananova.com
