Will sets red carpet record

London - Hollywood star Will Smith set a red-carpet record in Britain on Tuesday, appearing at three movie premieres in one day.

Promoting his new film Hitch, Smith attended premieres in Manchester, northern England, and Birmingham, central England, on Tuesday afternoon, before walking the red carpet in London's Leicester Square on Tuesday evening.

"I've had a beautiful day," said Smith, 36, as he arrived in Leicester Square amid a snow shower.

Completing the journey in a private jet, Smith said his whistle-stop tour had earned him a place in the Guinness Book of World Records.

Smith, who plays a New Yorker who helps men woo the women of their dreams in the romantic comedy Hitch, was joined by co-stars Amber Valletta and Eva Mendes at the London premiere.
