Dennilton - Motorists have been cautioned not to pick up female hitchhikers after a woman was used to help hijackers in Mpumalanga on Saturday night.
A 60-year-old motorist was hijacked when he pulled over to give a woman a lift on the Dennilton road to the Loskop Dam at about 19:00, said Eastern Highveld police spokesperson Jacky Nkoana on Monday.
"He was asking her where she wanted to go, when two armed men appeared and stripped him of his shoes, jacket and bank cards before driving off in his car," said Nkoana.
No arrests have been made and the man's car, an Opel Astra with registration number DST 079 GP, has not been recovered.
