Mexico - Puerto Rican singer Ricky Martin and his Mexican girlfriend, Rebeca de Alba, have no wedding plans, but de Alba said on Monday that she wants to be a mother soon.
"We have not made any decisions regarding a walk up the aisle," de Alba said in remarks broadcast by Televisa network here.
"It's strange, I've never seen myself as a wife in the traditional sense," the television star said.
"I've seen myself as a mother much more than as a wife."
She said the couple, one of Central America's best-known celebrity partnerships, might have some more news on this front in the coming year.
She described her Puerto Rican singer partner as "a gentleman, a wonderful man and a great guy."
Martin shot to worldwide fame during the 1998 football World Cup with his song "Livin' la vida loca." He was named a Unicef goodwill ambassador a few weeks ago.
