Germany - Police in the northern German city of Kassel said on Thursday they were investigating a case of a killing and possible cannibalism after arresting a suspect who made a full confession.
"This is going to take a while," prosecutor Hans-Manfred Jung said about the case dating back to the year 2000 in which the suspect (41) confessed to having killed his friend (42) at his friend's request.
The suspect also said he had cut up the victim and eaten parts of the body, with the scene captured on video, police said. Berlin police have reported the 42-year-old victim as missing.
The two men were believed to have had a homosexual relationship, with both sharing a leaning towards cannibalism. It was believed that the two found each other through an advertisement posted on the internet.
Police recently got onto the trail of the suspect when he posted an internet ad seeking a partner willing to be killed and eaten by him. Police said a search of the suspect's apartment found video films, deep-frozen human flesh and skeletal remains. - Sapa-DPA
