Los Angeles - Songstress Barbra Streisand will come out of a two-year retirement later this month to sing at a Democratic party
fundraiser in Los Angeles, according to news reports on Saturday.
Streisand (60) has agreed to sing three songs at a $500-per ticket gala on September 29 to be held at Hollywood's Kodak
Theatre, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported.
House Minority Leader Richard Gephardt persuaded the star to
return to the stage to help raise money for the Democratic
Congressional Campaign Committee. The event is expected to help
raise some $4 million for the Democrats.
Streisand, a longtime Democratic activist, has maintained a low political profile since her good friend ex-President Bill Clinton left office last year. - Sapa-AFP
