Anton Goosen thrown out of pub

Johannesburg - Afrikaans singer Anton Goosen was tossed out of an Emperors Palace pub because of the cap that he was wearing.
The "Liedjieboer" has for several decades been synonymous with his caps, bonnets, and other multi-coloured headgear.
Goosen said a bouncer "who was just doing his job", had refused him entry to the watering-hole because he was wearing his Visinnibos cap.
"He eventually told me I could wear the cap upside down," Goosen laughed.
Goosen was stopped dead in his tracks after performing earlier that night with singer Jakkie Louw.
'There wasn't any dress code'
He was on the way to have some drinks with Louw, a few friends and Select Music staff, when their visit was blocked.
"I don't know, perhaps I appeared a bit dodgy to him. I didn't want to make a scene. We just turned around and walked off. But I couldn't help pointing out to the guy that his whole audience was walking out with us."
A group of people in the joint got up and left with Goosen to visit another club.
"I told the guy I would take my cap off if he'd remove his pants," he laughed. "So far as I knew, there wasn't any dress code."
Goosen said he'd been refused entry to four other venues, because of his image.
"In 1980, when I still worked at Beeld, I was at a function with a group of journalists, and when they refused me entry, all the journos got up and left with me."
