Pretoria - Even before the musical Mamma Mia started its run at the State Theatre in Pretoria on Wednesday, organisers said they would add several more shows due to popular demand.
"We had a look at the bookings yesterday and it was so full, several shows were totally sold out," said Ferial Moola, publicist for the show.
Organisers had to extend the run in Pretoria that was due to end on August 13 with seven more shows. It would now end on August 20.
The international tour of the show based on the songs of Abba has just ended at the Artscape in Cape Town.
It had a run in Johannesburg earlier in the year.
The musical has been seen by over 24 million people in over 115 cities across North America, Australia, Europe and Asia and organisers are already talking about bringing the show back to South Africa next year.
