Oppikoppi gets bigger

Johannesburg - Oppikoppi planners manage to come up with something new all the time. Now they intend extending the annual music festival, which moved from the Bushveld to Pretoria last year, even further.
Oppikoppi says the festival will no longer be held only at the Fountains, outside Pretoria. The main festival is to be preceded by a fringe festival,
called Premix.
During the Premix festival smaller concerts will be held at venues dotted
around Pretoria. Some of the artists performing at Premix as well as novices
will later also appear at several of the many stages set up for the main
festival.
More space will be created for other genres, including comedy.
New dates for the main festival were also announced. The main festival, titled Plunge, is scheduled for September 6 and 7, once again at the
Fountains. The Premix festival will be held from August 30 to September 5.
The main festival has moved back a month as artists and
festival-goers had a hard time braving the cold at last year's event.
The festival originated at Northam in the Bushveld and was an annual event
over the long weekend of August 9 - when the weather is already balmy in
those climates.
