SANParks CEO appointed

Johannesburg - Dr Nomvuselelo Songelwa has been appointed acting CEO of the SA National Parks, SANParks said on Tuesday.

"Dr Songelwa, who is currently managing executive: parks, assumes her new role tomorrow," chairman Kuseni Dlamini said in a statement.

Songelwa would replace current acting CEO Abe Sibiya.

"The current acting CEO, Abe Sibiya, has completed the maximum of six months in this role and is returning to his position as managing executive Kruger National Park," Dlamini said.

The appointment of the new CEO was expected to be finalised soon and the position would be advertised.

SANParks also intended appointing a chief operating officer.
