Johannesburg - Two suspected rhino poachers appeared in
the Bela Bela Regional Court in Limpopo on Friday, police said.
"That case has been postponed to 5 March [Tuesday].
They are still in police custody," said police spokesperson Hangwani
Mulaudzi.
The two men from Donkerhoek near Pretoria, were arrested
on Wednesday in a private game reserve.
They were found in possession of a .300 Winchester
hunting rifle, an axe, and two knives.
The men are facing charges of illegally hunting protected
game and possession of an unlicensed firearm.
On Wednesday, Mulaudzi said the arrest of these two took
the toll of suspected rhino poachers apprehended in February to 15.
Three people were arrested at Nwanedi Game Reserve.
At Letaba Ranch, police cornered five suspected poachers.
Two were arrested, while the other three were shot dead.
Last week, five others were arrested in Phalaborwa.
In these arrests, police confiscated four unlicensed
hunting rifles, one AK-47, a pistol, three knives, and two vehicles.
