Singer Cici has opened up about being on the slow road to recovery after undergoing pelvic replacement surgery, after an alleged violent altercation with her rumoured ex-boyfriend Arthur Mafokate.

Taking to social media Cici shared a video of herself learning to walk on crutches under the supervision of a rehabilitation therapist.

The singer could be seen struggling to take just a few steps at what appeared to be a medical facility. Despite not being able to walk properly yet, Cici remained in high spirits about her recovery.

“One day at a time, thank you for the support,” she said.

It’s been seven weeks since it was first reported that Cici had laid charges of common assault against Arthur, after an altercation between them allegedly turned violent

Arthur has also laid counter charges of assault against Cici.

A week after reports first emerged Cici shared a picture of the scar she was left with after undergoing a pelvic replacement operation.

Meanwhile, according to TshisaLIVE Arthur and Cici are both expected to appear in court on August 4 and August 7 respectively.

“The docket was sent back to the police for further investigations. Upon return Mafokate [Arthur] was given a court date for August 4 and Busisiwe [Cici] August 7. They will both appear on assault charges against each other at the Midrand Magistrates Court,” NPA spokesperson Phindi Louw told the publication.
