Clash of the choirs is back. Johannesburg hopefuls who will be auditioning this weekend can look forward to singing their hearts out to Squatter Camps Suga Smax .

Singing hopefuls must make their way to The Market Laboratory in Newtown to try out for a spot in his choir from 08:00 – 17:00, this Saturday, 15 February 2014.

Seven Judges will make up seven choirs from seven provinces but only one choir that will walk away with R750 000 grand prizes. R250 000 will go to the charity of their choice and R500 000 will go to the winning choir.

At auditions, choirmasters will challenge contestants to perform different genres of music from Pop, RnB and Gospel to Kwaito – in a choral formation. Choirs can audition as a group, but choir masters will only be selecting individuals to make up their own choir that will compete in the final run for the grand prize. This means if the Choirmaster hears a distinctive voice within the choir, he/she can pull certain members that will fill a spot in their 20 piece maestro masterpiece and represent their original choir in the second season of Clash of the Choirs South Africa.

Singers need to impress the Choirmaster with their golden voices. Singers are encouraged to choose a song that best represents their vocal abilities.
