After celebrating his 85th birthday Archbishop Desmond Tutu has revealed that he wants the assisted death option to be made open for him.

This come after his 20-year battle with prostate cancer.

Tutu has been in and out of hospital lately due to an infection he got from the cancer treatment.

Here is the video of the Archbishop saying that death is a part of life and he would like the option of assisted death.

"As a christian I believe in the sanctity of life and that death is a part of life. I hope that when the time comes, I am treated with compassion and allowed to pass on to the next phase in the manner of my choice. People who are terminally ill should have the option of dignified and compassionate assisted dying. I pray that the politicians, law makers and religious leaders have the courage to support the choices of terminally ill citizens. God bless you" said Desmond Tutu   The video grabbed the attention of everybody world-wide, even though many calls of requests for medically assisted suicide have been growing throughout the year, the procedure is still illegal.
