Epileptic and in love

I am a 26-year-old man and my problem is that I suffer from epilepsy. I’m secretly in love with a girl who lives in the same neighbourhood. Every time she passes me, I feel my heart beating faster.

I am scared to ask her out because I think she would not be willing to go out with an epileptic person. I have wanted to tell her that I like her, but my friends discourage me because they say she would never go out with me. Please help me. – Concerned Lucas

Your problem is that you are putting your disability before your feelings. There is nothing wrong with the way you feel about this girl, so go ahead and approach her. If she refuses you, it would have nothing to do with your disability. Many people are in relationships with people with disabilities, so forget about what your friends tell you and go with your instinct.

Be confident about yourself, otherwise you will lose many things in life that were meant for you. This girl might even come to love you mainly because of your confidence. Even if she does not want to go out with you, she will respect you for your confidence. Go for it, Lucas, and I wish you all the best.
