A former stripper has appeared in court in connection with the murder of a man whose decomposing body was found in his car at Montecasino in Johannesburg last Sunday.

The Star reported that Maruschka Robinson, 24, appeared in the Randburg Magistrate's Court on Wednesday. Her next court appearance will be on 2 October, and she will remain in custody.

Police are apparently still searching for other suspects, and believe the motive for the murder was robbery.

"There is a possibility we may arrest further suspects," said Lieutenant Colonel Lungelo Dlamini.

He said he could not release any further information.

Dustan Blom, 36, was last seen on 17 September, after allegedly offering to give an unknown woman a lift home. The tracking device on his vehicle was then deactivated and his cellphone was turned off.

Wife died during childbirth

The Star also reported that Blom had lost his wife during the birth of their twins earlier this year.

Blom's sister, Julie, told the daily that he had married Talita Blom three years ago.

Earlier this year, in March, she gave birth to their twins, Jarred and Megan.

But five hours after giving birth, Talita died of an amniotic embolism which caused her heart and lungs to collapse.

"He was devastated. He was in a world of pain," said Julie.

The twins were in the care of Talita's family.
