Fish pie

Serves 4

Power setting: Full

450g hake fillets

30 ml (2 tablespoons) water

30 ml (2 tablespoons) margarine

30 ml (2 tablespoons) flour

300 ml (1 cup + 3 tablespoons + 1 teaspoon) milk

2 hard-boiled eggs, shelled and chopped

125 ml (1/2 cup) cooked peas

salt and pepper

4 potatoes, skinned and mashed

45 ml (3 tablespoons) margarine

60 ml (4 tablespoons) milk

Place the fish in a shallow baking dish with the water. Cover and cook for four minutes, turning the dish once. Drain and flake the fish, discarding any skin and bones. Place the butter in a bowl and cook for one minute. Stir in the flour and mix well, and gradually add the milk. Cook for two minutes, stirring twice. Add the egg, flaked fish, peas, salt and pepper and mix well. Mix the mashed potatoes, margarine and milk. Line a serving dish with the fish mixture and spoon the creamed potatoes onto the fish mixture. Cook for five minutes, turning the dish once. Serve hot.
