Sizwe Nxasana has praised the FeesMustFall campaign.

The chairman of the National Student Financial Aid Scheme was speaking at the farewell function at Velabahleke High School for principal Mbongeni Mtshali at the Umlazi Cinema Hall, south of Durban on Saturday.

He told the audience he supported the campaign and was inspired by the students who showed resilience and dedication in their demand for free education.

“While I praise the students, I condemn

violence. I know that in their campaign there were more peaceful protests than violent ones. I will work hard to give them free education,” said Nxasana.

He appealed to parents who can afford it to pay for their children’s education so that more money is available to provide free education for the poor.
