26 October 2013

Fuse ODG born Richard Abiona is often compared to Akon and K’naan because they share similar backgrounds. The British/Ghanaian artist has set the international Afro-Pop scene alight with his abundance of talent.

He is the first Ghanaian artist in history to hold the number 1 spot on the iTunes World Chart as an independent artist. His hit track “Azonto” has over 11 million Views on You Tube in 2012 alone, a remarkable feat for any African music artist. Fuse ODG's musical journey began to gain momentum after a trip to Ghana in 2011.

There, he met up with the explosive combination of one of Africa’s top producer Killbeatz and Ghanaian female rapper Tiffany to create the international hit “Azonto”. After its viral release in November 2011 scooping over a one million views in a matter weeks, “Azonto” became one of YouTube’s most watched videos in the UK that month, cementing Fuse's status in the Afrobeats genre.

Fuse ODG is now referred to as one of the pioneers of the “Azonto” dance movement internationally, recently receiving the attention and support from the Prime Minister David Cameron. 2013 is set to see Fuse ODG rise to even greater heights. His latest release “Antenna” has had the whole industry buzzing, and has already reached number 7 in the UK national charts.
