Have the right attitude

Don’t go into a salary negotiation or performance review with an aggressive attitude about how badly the company is paying you or how they have prevented you from performing. If there are any issues holding you back, you should have addressed those along the way. It’s also important not to appear embarrassed to be discussing money. Practice your arguments in front of the mirror, focusing on speaking clearly and confidently about your work performance and salary requests.
