Hot cinnamon peaches

Serves 4

Quick and easy. Serve these delicious caramelised peaches with ice cream or evaporated milk.

1 can peach halves in syrup

60 ml (4 tablespoons) butter or margarine

60 ml (4 tablespoons) sugar

5 ml (1 teaspoon) cinnamon

Drain the peaches and keep half the syrup. Set both aside. Grease a pan with a thick layer butter, and sprinkle the sugar and cinnamon over. Heat over very low heat until the sugar and butter begin to melt. Add the syrup and bring to the boil. Simmer for ….. minutes until syrupy. Add the peaches, cover and simmer for five to seven minutes. Leave to cool for 10 minutes and then serve the warm peaches with ice cream or cold evaporated milk.
