How you can cover up dark marks on your face

WHEN it comes to beauty products, the concealer has saved more puffy eyes and

dark spots than one could ever imagine. Yet so many women have never tried it, even worse, some have never heard of it.

WHAT IS A CONCEALER?

A concealer is used to cover up (conceal) dark areas including puffiness under the eye area. It also covers blemishes, uneven skin tone and dark circles. It comes in liquid, creamy liquid, matte finish and paste forms. Use the liquid form if the problem area is under the eye. Take note that the paste tends to become cakey after some time.

WHAT SHADE WORKS FOR YOU?

When buying a concealer, it is advisable to go one shade lighter than your foundation as anything lighter will be too much of a contrast. Choose a natural tone that is close to your foundation. Test the concealer in the store by applying it on the problem area to see if it covers it well.

HOW TO APPLY A CONCEALER

Applying a concealer differs from person to person. You can apply it before or after applying the foundation. If you have oily skin, it’s advisable to apply the concealer after

you apply the foundation. Most concealers come with a mini brush attached to the top, making it easy to sweep it across the problem area. If this is not the case, use a sponge to apply. Dab the concealer on the problem area. Do not apply as large an amount as you would with the foundation. Simply dot it on. You can also use a concealer brush to make the process easier.

EXTRA TIPS

For dry skin, add a bit of moisturiser before you apply the concealer to avoid the dry look and feel. Try to buy the same brand of a concealer as your foundation.
