20 October 2013

The seven contestants remaining in Idols SA Season 9 are making a joyful noise in their competition this week, performing some popular hits in a choral style with the help of another Idols SA innovation: the Idols Choir!

In alphabetical order, BRENDEN LEDWABA (19) from Graskop in Mpumalanga [@brenden_praise] is going to be putting his unique charismatic spin on the Josh Groban standard “You Raise me Up”.

BUNNY MAJAJA (26) from Florida Glen in Johannesburg [@BunnyMajaja] goes old school with a Beatles classic, “Let It Be”, and you can be sure Idols judge Randall Abrahams is already rehearsing a tender Beatles lyric to sing back to her!

CHRISTINA WILLIAMS (21) from Port Elizabeth [@_c_williams] hopes to win some votes with Alicia Keys’ very first hit ever, “Fallin’”.

Durban schoolteacher CRYSTALENE NAIR (24) [@CrystaleneNair] will be covering that old Aretha Franklin standard “(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman”.

MUSA SUKWENE (26) from eMalahleni in Mpumalanga [@musathevoice] chose a song from a recent visitor to our shores, Anthony Hamilton, called “Pass Me Over”.

SONKE MAZIBUKO (21) from Soweto [@sonke_mazibuko] hopes to impress with his rendition of the Jimmy Cliff classic “Many Rivers To Cross”.

19-year-old ZOË ZANA from Bishop Lavis in Cape Town [@zoe_zana] heads back to the early Eighties for some classic Jackson 5 with “Can You Feel It?”

And the entire Top 7, along with the Idols Choir, will put their unique Idols spin on the latest Katy Perry megahit, “Roar”!

Tickets for the Top 7 Spectacular this Friday [18 October] are now available from Computicket.
