Itumeleng Khune Appears in court for reckless driving

Bafana Bafana and Kaizer Cheifs Goal keeper Itumeleng Khune appeared briefly in the Centurion Magistrates court after he was arrested by members of the Tshwane Metro Police on Friday .

Bafana Bafana and Kaizer Cheifs Goal keeper Itumeleng Khune appeared briefly in the Centurion Magistrates court after he was arrested by members of the Tshwane Metro Police on Friday .

The Sunday World reported that the soccer star was driving at 173km/hr in a 120km/hr zone . According to the report he was detained for a short time at Lyttelton police station before paying R1500 in bail .

The SABC reported that after his appearance , Khune apologised to fans gathered around the court entrance .  “I have made a mistake and I have hurt … I will learn from it. As Bafana-Bafana captain I appreciate my position as a role model to South Africa, especially the younger generation. I humbly apologise for this indiscretion. I will ensure that I learn from this mistake and become a better role model and better person. As Tata Madiba said: "Don't judge me by my success. Judge me by how many times I fell and got back up,” he said .

Khune will apear again at the Lyttelton Magistrates court on the 6th of March
