The competition on Idols this year has been tough. Every week we are blown away by the amazing talent that we see on this year’s show. Jaw were yet again left hanging as another Idols contestant Keegan Martin (24) was voted out.

Speaking to Move! Keegan says that he truly enjoyed his time on Idols. “This is not the end of my journey it is only the beginning. I believe when another door closes another one will surely open. I see myself in the entertainment industry and I am here to stay,” he says.

Keegan who only started to sing at the age of eight says that he is grateful for the support that people in Mzansi have showed him. “ The hustle continues because I do not want to let my fans down . Music is what I love doing and I promise not to give up,” says the Free-State born singer.

He says he walks away from Idols with life lessons that he will treasure through his music career. “I have learnt the importance of discipline and the importance of remaining humble. This competition has taught me not to lose myself but to know who I am and to be humbles,” says Keegan.

Leaving behind Noma, Thami, Bevin, Lucia, Tebogo and Terra, Keegan says he wishes them nothing but the best. “Not many people in South Africa who have the talent make it to a competition like Idols and we should be grateful because it is a great platform. Those who are still left in the competition should continue keeping their eyes on the price,” he says.

Reacting to Keegan’s exit, Unathi Msengana explained: “It’s been hard to predict what South Africa wants. It’s such a tumultuous and emotional time. Everyone who is here right now deserves to be here; Keegan deserves to be here.”

Next week, one more contestant will be leaving to make way for the Top Five.
