Maintenance defaulters to be blacklisted

The National Assembly has passed a new law that will see parents who default on child maintenance blacklisted.

They will also be prohibited from getting credit while owing maintenance.

According to a statement released by the Justice Department, if a person defaults from paying maintenance, their details would be submitted to the credit bureau. The bill however, still needs to parliaments National Council of Provinces.
