  • Have a goal

If you sacrifice something every month but know that the reward will be worth it, it starts           feeling less like a sacrifice and more like part of journey.

  • Trolley dash

Set yourself a reasonable but short time limit when grocery shopping – say 20 minutes. This will force you to stick to your grocery list.

  • Food for thought

Get in the habit of making your own lunches to take to work. Instead of buying lunch, a few extra minutes of your time to prepare a lunchbox will save you money. Takeaway lunches cost anything between R20 – R50 a day, adding up to a big amount every month.

  • Flush less

Put a closed plastic bottle filled with some sand in your toilet's water tank. The bottle will take up the space of 10 litres in your toilet tank and save you the price of 10 litres with every flush
