Make sure your child eats healthily

What your child eats is of great importance, because the right food can improve concentration. Make sure that your child:

• Eats regularly (three meals a day).

• Does not skip breakfast. It is considered the most important meal of the day. Breakfast will kick-start your child’s metabolism in the morning and give energy for studying.

• Eats more vegetables.

• Drinks about two litres of water per day. Water supplies oxygen to the brain.

• Stays away from energy supplements, such as Bioplus and Red Bull. These contain large amounts of caffeine and can disturb sleep patterns and cause trembling as well as “blanks” in the exams.

• Limits his or her sugar intake. Too much sugar can also disturb sleep patterns and cause attention problems.
