Mock tartar sauce for fish

tartar sauce

INGREDIENTS

¦ 500g box of hake

steaks (about 6 steaks)

¦ 5ml (1 teaspoon)

crushed garlic

¦ 5ml (1 teaspoon)

chilli flakes

¦ salt and freshly ground

black pepper

¦ 65ml (¼ cup) olive or

sunflower oil

Tartar sauce

¦ 125ml (½ cup) CROSSE &

BLACKWELL GARLIC AND

HERB MAYONNAISE

¦ 125ml (½ cup) plain

yoghurt

¦ 65ml (¼ cup) finely

chopped gherkins

¦ 45ml (3 tablespoons)

chopped fresh parsley

¦ salt and pepper to taste

¦ 45ml (3 tablespoons)

finely chopped capers,

optional

INSTRUCTIONS

Season fish steaks with garlic, chilli flakes, salt and freshly ground black pepper.

Heat oil and pan-fry fish for about 5 minutes on each side.

For the tartar sauce: mix all the ingredients in a bowl and whisk.

Transfer into a serving bowl and drizzle over fish, just before serving.
