Music teacher on sex assault charge

A Cape Town music teacher has appeared in court on charges of sexual assault.

The 32-year old former teacher stands accused of conducting a string of sexual assaults against six boys, aged between nine and 10.

These are said to have happened during music lessons.

The Reddam House, a private school where the suspect taught, and in which these alleged assaults took place, have confirmed that they have terminated his contract as a freelance teacher with immediate effect.

Western Cape police spokesperson Captain FC van Wyk has also confirmed the man’s arrest.
