While everyone awaits Big Brother’s official response to rape rumours, it’s life as usual in the Big Brother Mzansi house

While everyone awaits Big Brother’s official response to rape rumours, it’s life as usual in the Big Brother Mzansi house.

M-Net informed viewers on Monday night in a shock announcement that two housemates would be removed from the BBMzansi house: one for misconduct while another contestant was removed for her own well-being.

Rumours have since been swirling on social media of an alleged rape that took place on Saturday night as the reason for them leaving the house.

On Tuesday morning however, things were back to normal as Big Brother posted on their website that the housemates woke up to songs that were "upbeat, happy and made them feel good".

Extracts from the post include the following:

"This morning, Biggie had the perfect sound to cheer up housemates and it helped them jump out of bed and started their day of right.  The songs were upbeat, happy and made them feel good.

"While chilling outside in the patio and listening to some good tunes, housemates talked about TV programmes from back in the days (...) The songs were uplifting and they accompanied them with coffee and with some good breakfast. (sic)" Read the full post here.

Channel24 reported earlier that this incident is nothing new for Big Brother, as a similar incident took place in the Big Brother Africa 2 house in South Africa in 2007. According to The Week, the previous incident was broadcast live across Africa, however M-Net was quick to respond saying if a "non-consensual physical relationship" began, the producers - Endemol SA - would have intervened.
